As you browse these pages, you'll find a number of very interesting
items. It's an exciting time to be affiliated with the IME
program, whether you're a student, a professional staff member,
or one of the IME faculty. Recent developments include:
- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Istanbul Technical University are proud to announce a joint-degree program in Industrial Engineering for students of ITU beginning Fall 2007. More......
- A new MS in Industrial Engineering is in the final approval stage and classes are expected to begin Fall 2008.
- SIUE/UMR M.S. - Manufacturing Engineering Program:
SIUE has an agreement witht he University of
Missouri-Rolla to offer a collaborative
Master
of Science in Manufacturing Engineering.
Coursework in this program can be completed on the SIUE campus,
at the UMR Engineering Extension Center in St. Louis, or at
the UMR main campus in Rolla, Missouri. The entire program
can be completed entirely in the St. Louis area, for students
who choose to do so. For more information, contact Dr.

- Program
Enrollment Growth: IME programs have experienced strong
enrollment growth over the past three years. During
that period, our undergraduate population has more than doubled
in size, and the inaugural M.S. - Manufacturing Engineering
cohort is expected to number more than twenty students.
- Formation
of the Southwest
Illinois Advanced Manufacturing Center: The
Southwest Illinois Advanced Manufacturing Center (SIAM) was
formed in July, 2002, and has already achieved a string of
successes. SIAM performs basic and applied research,
and workforce development activities intended to assist small
to moderately sized manufacturing enterprises in Illinois
and the St. Louis metropolitan area. Find

- Initiation
of the SIAM/N.O. Nelson Research and Education Facility:
In June, 2003, SIUE and Lewis & Clark Community College
reached an agreement for the joint establishment of a 12,000
square foot Research and Education Facility to be housed in
Edwardsville's historic N.O.
Nelson Center. The State of Illinois has
committed more than $16 million to the renovation of this
seven acre complex with the final phase nearing completion. The SIAM Center equipment is scheduled for instalation beginning in mid Augus6 2007. To read more about the agreement,
