Construction Management

About the Construction Management Program

The Construction Department offices are located in the Engineering Building on the western edge of the SIUE campus. The 129,000 square foot state of the art building was completed in the spring of 2000, and contains smart classrooms, laboratory space, computer labs, an auditorium, and faculty offices.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Department of Construction is to prepare its students to assume positions leading to increasing managerial responsibility in a wide variety of firms and agencies which plan and execute construction projects.

Program Objective

The objective of the Construction Management Program is to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate the multifaceted aspects of the construction industry. Course work presents basic scientific principles augmented by business and engineering practices and procedures.

Accreditation

The construction program is accredited with the American Council for Construction Education.
