EDUCARD is a special community program which allows you to attend selected credit classes offered by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. It provides an opportunity for you to sample the subjects that interest you most, from accounting to zoology. EDUCARD provides an economical and flexible opportunity for you to experience professional growth and personal enrichment. Program Application Form Classes approved for EDUCARD Class Schedules and Course Descriptions For more information, please contact: GENERAL INFORMATION Who is eligible for EDUCARD? Anyone who is not currently enrolled for credit in the University is eligible, such as.... - Senior Citizens *High school students: High school students must be at least 16 years of age. They may take up to a total of three courses through EDUCARD. After the third course, they may attend University classes only through regular admission or early admission to the University. High school students may NOT take the following courses: AD065, AD075, AD080, AD082, AD085, AD090, and AD095. Textbooks: As an EDUCARD student, you may borrow textbooks, as available at no cost through Textbook Service, which is located in the lower level of 200 University Park Drive. You may pick up your textbooks after the first week of classes, and you are required to return textbooks to Textbook Service at the end of the term. Parking: As an EDUCARD holder, you may purchase a red student parking decal at Parking Services in Room 1113 of Rendleman Hall. This decal will permit you to park in any of the designated "red" student parking lots while attending classes. Library Usage: You may request a Lovejoy Library courtesy card for the term you are enrolled as an EDUCARD student. Cost: The fee for EDUCARD is $35.00 per course. No more than three courses may be taken on EDUCARD in any one term. What types of classes are not offered on EDUCARD? Classes in which a danger may exist, classes that have full enrollment, classes where added direct expense may be incurred by the University, classes requiring extensive prerequisites, and noncredit classes are not offered on EDUCARD. Are there any restrictions? Students who have been admitted to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville within the past year or who have enrolled at SIUE during the past year are not permitted to enroll in the following courses: AD065, AD075, AD080, AD082, AD085, AD090, AD092, and AD095 under the EDUCARD program. Registering: You may register by mail with payment by check, money order, MasterCard, Discover or VISA. The attached form may be used to register by mail. Your mail registration will be held until the completion of regular University registration for classes, when you will be notified regarding the availability of space in classes you request by mail. If space is not available, the registration fee will be refunded. You may also register in person at the Office of Educational Outreach, Rendleman Hall Room 1330.
