Prior to joining SIUE faculty Dr. Gupta taught corporate finance
at Texas A&M University and University of Missouri – Columbia.
Dr. Gupta’s research interests include corporate governance,
top managerial compensation, international finance, market microstructure,
and earnings management. His recent research focuses on substitution
among governance mechanism, and their effect on CEO compensation,
and earnings management. He is also studying the effects of debt
maturity on firm’s propensity to manage earnings. His dissertation
was awarded best graduate student paper award at the Eastern Finance
Association in 2005.
Dr. Gupta is a member of American Finance Association, Financial
Management Association, and Eastern Finance Association. “
