Prior to joining the SIUE faculty, Dr. Williams
was a doctoral candidate in the Management Information Systems Department,
and an applications analyst principal in the Office of Information
Technology, in the Terry College of Business at the University of
Georgia. He earned his Ph.D. in 2007 and his dissertation examined
the coordinating process in federated IT governance structures.
Dr. Williams has over 15 years professional experience.
He was an executive vice president Definition 6, an Atlanta-based
internet and marketing consultancy. He was a founding partner in
an internet start-up. Clay was the Atlanta region manager and a
project manager for Nexgenix, an Irvine, CA based technology consultancy.
He worked at Deloitte & Touche as a consulting manager focused on
business process re-engineering. Dr. Williams' primary teaching
area is the management and implementation of information technology
to support operational, tactical, and planning decisions in organizations.
His current research involves understanding the
process of coordinating in federated IT governance structures to
achieve organizational level outcomes. Dr. Williams' prior research
has been presented at Academy of Management Conferences (2005, 2006)
and Americas Conferences on Information Systems (2004). nbsp;
