In addition to his faculty position at SIUE,
Dr. Schrage has been associated with Muskegon Community College,
the U.S. Army Computer Science Institute, Pennsylvania State University,
and Purdue University. He holds several certifications with the
CSP (Certified Systems Professional) related to his faculty position.
Professor Schrage has extensive computer experience in education,
business, and government settings. For over ten years, he worked
with the U.S. Government (mainly U.S. Army) on computer planning,
design, and programming plus other application areas of fund accounting,
personnel management, and budgeting. His business experiences have
been mainly small firm oriented with the most recent experiences
dealing with the legal issues using hardware and software for two
law firms. Dr. Schrage continues to work on the development of a
software portfolio for use in the beginning business environment.
Currently, he is working with several pre-college educational settings
on using computer tools.
Professor Schrage has published in Interfaces, SIGCSE Bulletin,
Installation Management Review, Information Systems and Management
Consulting, Journal of Systems Management, and Database. His current
research interests include "Providing the Secure Computer Setting,"
"Computer Education in Lifelong Learning," and "Using
Computers in the Business Environment."
