March 22, 2008 SIUE Scratches Out Victory over Rockhurst          KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville won four singles matches Saturday and defeated Great Lakes Valley Conference women's tennis rival Rockhurst 5-4.          Carli Connors and Laura Horning each won their singles matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Connors picked up a 7-5, 6-4 straight sets victory over Caitlin Buckley. Horning went three sets with Kandice Belanger, winning 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.          SIUE, now 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, also won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Stephanie Clark dispatched Brittany Hanna 6-1, 6-4. Sarah Rhein defeated Rockhurst's Abby Anderson at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-3.          Clark and Rhein were double winners as the duo won at No. 2 doubles. They defeated Buckley and Julie Schwarz 9-8 with a 10-8 score in the tiebreaker.          Rockhurst is now 1-1 for the season overall and in the GLVC.          SIUE is now home for a 2 p.m. match Friday against Northern Kentucky.                   -siue cougars-
