February 19, 2007 Spring Season Kicks Off for Cougars          EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - The spring season is underway. The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's tennis team opened the 2007 campaign with a 5-3 loss to Southwest Baptist.          The Cougars, 0-2, are now idle until their spring break trip until March.          Associate Head Coach Kyler Updyke said it was a good first outing for the Cougars.          "The bottom half of the lineup did well," said Updyke. "The top of the lineup got off to some slow starts."          SIUE picked up wins in singles out of No 4. Amanda Niebur (Edwardsville), No. 5 Jayda Gleghorn (Springfield), and No. 6 Marley Coghlan (Granite City). Updyke said it came down to doubles, where Southwest Baptist pulled out the team victory.          "We've been focusing on our doubles play. And we have had signs that doubles is going to come around," said Updyke.                   -siue cougars-
