Women’s Tennis Face MacMurray
The SIU Edwardsville women’s tennis team will hope to continue its successful spring season when it plays MacMurray on Friday. The match will be held at 2 p.m. in Elsah at Principia College.
The Cougars, 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the spring season, picked up wins last week against Illinois-Springfield and the University of Chicago.
“They are doing well,” Coach Bill Logan said. “I’m proud that they did what they had to do to get those wins.”
Chrissy Yingst (Belleville) won both of her singles matches against Illinois-Springfield and Chicago. Every singles player got at least one win in the two matches.
The doubles tandem of Coryn Reich (Newton) and Yingst went 2-0 on the week, as well as the team of Gina Wohltman (Effingham) and Allison Coats (Belleville).
