Women’s Tennis Set For GLVC Tournament
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is the No. 4 seed for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, which is set for Friday and Saturday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
The Cougars, 6-3 overall, face off against Northern Kentucky in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 9 a.m. SIUE would play the winner of the Indianapolis-Saint Joseph’s match in a 1 p.m. contest.
The Cougars struggled at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional championship in Indianapolis. Gina Wohltman (Effingham) won a singles match and Coryn Reich (Newton) and Chrissy Yingst (Belleville) won a doubles match.
Wohltmann defeated Allison Skwarski from Michigan Tech. It was the Cougars’ only singles victory.
