| September 28, 2001 SIUE Eases Past Bellarmine 8-1 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles to overpower Bellarmine University 8-1 Friday afternoon at the SIUE Tennis Courts. SIUE, 6-1 overall and 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, set up tomorrow's showdowns with the University of Indianapolis and undefeated Northern Kentucky University. With the loss, Bellarmine fell to 2-5 overall and in the GLVC. Amber Stanley (Effingham) defeated Lori Rinehard at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3. Coryn Reich (Newton) fell in her No. 2 singles match in a battle of baseline players, 7-5, 6-3. Laura Zeeb (Greenville), Chrissy Yingst (Belleville), Allison Coats (Belleville) and Keli Keener (Bethalto) all won their singles matches. The Cougars face Indianapolis at 9 a.m. and Northern Kentucky at 4 p.m. Both matches are to be played at the SIUE Tennis Court. -siue-
