May 26, 2005 Williams Misses 400-Meter Qualifying ABILENE, Texas — Kimetha Williams (Bellevue, Neb.) placed eighth in her heat and missed the finals of the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Elmer Gray Stadium on Thursday. Williams time of 57.71 was 22nd overall. The fastest time in the prelimaries was Johnsie Liles of Saint Augustine's at 53.60. The SIUE women's track and field team has more to come at the national championships. Asaki Carr (St. Louis) competes on Friday in the 100-meter hurdles preliminaries at 8:05 p.m. Callie Glover (Bartlett) is in the field for the hammer throw at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Christine Butler (Matteson) also competes on Saturday in the triple jump beginning at 6 p.m. -siue cougars-
