February 12, 2005 DePauw Invitational Results 2005 Indoor Performance List Women's Track Wins DePauw Invitational Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s women’s track team took home the DePauw Invitational indoor championship with 133 points Saturday in Greencastle, Ind. The Cougars finished first out of 20 teams with the next closest opponent, Olivet Nazarene University, scoring 76 points. Tairisha Sawyer (Chicago) broke her own school-record in the 200 meters with a time of 25.31 improving her provisional qualifying mark. Jessica Levy (Des Plaines) also improved her provisional qualifying mark finishing right behind Sawyer at 25.57. Brittany Reeves (Hanover Park) provisionally qualified in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.40. Kimetha Williams finished first in the 400-meters with a time of 58.31M. Christen Carducci (Powell, Ohio) placed first in both the one mile and the 3000 meters. Carducci set season high in both races with a 5:07.99 seconds in the mile and 10:29.79 in the 3000. Callie Glover set the school-record in the weight throw with a toss of 53 feet, 9 inches (16.38 meters) to improve her provsional qualifying in the event. The Cougars travel to Charelston for the EIU Friday Night Special this week. -siue cougars- |
