May 29, 2004 Two More Pick Up All-American Status POMONA, Calif. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville freshman Jamie Thomas (Blue Island) and senior Breanne Steffens (Moline) will come home as All-Americans once again. Thomas earned her second All-American certificate in as many days on Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.73 seconds. Thomas previously earned All-American honors in the triple jump. Steffens earned her second All-American certificate of the athletic year on Saturday with 1,500-meter finish of 4:33.63. She placed eighth overall. Steffens previously was an All-American during the cross country season in the fall. SIUE's Mary Witte (Normal), a junior, placed 12th in the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:29.55. SIUE finished the meet with five team points.
