SIUE Grounds Flyers 4-0
         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer offense turned on the afterburners Sunday at Korte Stadium.
         SIUE, now 5-3-1 overall and 4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, overpowered Lewis 4-0, scoring three times in an eight-minute time frame in the second half. Lewis' record dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the GLVC.
         SIUE midfielder Elizabeth Valenti scored the first goal of the game at 18:16 and assisted on another. Katie Yearian scored twice and added an assist of her own. Freshman Kiara Akpore scored her second goal of the season with a sliding score at 81:59.
         The Cougars nearly doubled up the Flyers in shots with a 17-9 edge. Valenti and Yearian each had four shots for SIUE.
         SIUE's Kaci Backs and Kim Roady each played a half in goal. Backs picked up five saves while Roady collected two.
         SIUE next travels to Northern Kentucky Friday for a matchup with the Norse in Wilder, Ky.
