September 16, 2007 No. 21 Rockhurst Defeats SIUE 2-1          KANSAS CITY, MO. - The number of shots were even, but No. 21 Rockhurst earned the edge in scoring, defeating the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer team 2-1 Sunday.          Rockhurst, 6-1-1 overall and 3-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, took the lead early when Chelsey Schumacher headed the ball past SIUE goalkeeper Kaci Backs off a corner kick from Katie Vogt at 5:23.          The Cougars, which had their record evened to 3-3-1 overall and 2-2 in the GLVC, allowed another goal in the second half. Rockhurst's Lindsay Ewert scored at 65:53 past SIUE's Kim Roady, who took over in goal in the second half.          Despite both teams taking 10 shots, SIUE's only score came at 81:34 when Elizabeth Valenti converted a penalty kick at 81:34.          SIUE now returns home to face UW-Parkside Friday at Korte Stadium.
