SIUE Women's Soccer Set for Drury, Rockhurst
After an exciting win on Sunday, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's soccer Cougars must regroup for this week's action at Drury and Rockhurst.
SIUE ran its record to 3-1-1 with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana. Katie Yearian (Waterloo) provided the game-winning goal against USI with just 1:14 left in the game.
The Cougars picked up back-to-back shutouts against KWC and USI. Kim Roady (Granite City) and Kaci Backs (Waterloo) shared time in goal for the Cougars. The duo collected seven saves against KWC and eight against USI.
Drury is among the hottest teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference heading into Friday's 5 p.m. game. The Panthers, who will face Missouri-Rolla in a Tuesday game, has won four consecutive games after losing their opener at Saginaw Valley State.
Rockhurst faces Quincy on Friday before taking on the Cougars Sunday at noon. Rockhurst enters the week with a 5-0-1 record and joins the Cougars as one of four teams with 2-0 records in league play.
