August 6, 2007 Click here for 2007 Schedule SIUE Women's Soccer Announces 2007 Schedule          EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville coach Lynda Bowers is aiming high in her team's final season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.          "We're hoping to do something we've never done before, and that's win the conference championship," said Bowers. The Cougars previously have been the top seed for the GLVC Tournament (1998) and have posted the best record during the regular season (1998 and 1999), but the conference title has eluded the team.          The Cougars are coming off a 12-5-3 overall record and an 8-3-2 mark in the GLVC last season. SIUE returns six starters from last season's club.          SIUE's 2007 schedule again is an ambitious one. The Cougars will play all 13 GLVC teams over the season culminating with the eight-team conference tournament beginning on Oct. 28.          The Cougars have nine regular season home games beginning with a non-conference matchup against Newberry on Sunday, Aug. 26 at noon. SIUE's final regular season home game is Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. against McKendree.          Bowers also will challenge her team with eight road contests, including two early-season games against regional opponents Ferris State on Aug. 31 and Grand Valley State on Sept. 2.          Season tickets are available for Cougar women's and men's soccer games.
