UIndy’s Jones Named GLVC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Senior Forward Scores Two Game-Winners for Greyhounds
         Indianapolis, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis’ Sarah Jones (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The senior co-captain guided the Greyhounds to a pair of league wins last week.
         Jones, a forward, posted the game-winning goal in the 31st minute against visiting Missouri-St. Louis in the Greyhounds’ 2-0 win on Oct. 13. She drilled the score from 16-yards out on an assist from Amanda Reese.
         She added her second game-winning goal of the weekend in UIndy’s 2-1 win over Missouri-Rolla on Oct. 15. Jones scored the goal off a cross from teammate Allie Opfer in the 69th minute of the contest.
         Jones is tied for the team-lead and is tied for sixth in the GLVC with nine goals this season. She has five game-winning goals and has added three assists for a total of 21 points.
         Indianapolis secured a quarterfinal home-match for the upcoming GLVC Tournament with the wins and will host Northern Kentucky. The Greyhounds are 13-4 overall, tying the school record for wins in a season. They completed the conference schedule 9-4.
