Shumate Leads Cougars at UCM
         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The Pat McNamara era officially began Sunday as the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wrestling team participated in the Central Missouri Open.
         "Although we did not have anyone place, I thought that our guys wrestled well this weekend. We now know what we need to work on," said McNamara
         In all, the Cougars had 12 wrestlers participate in the in the UCM Open. Nicholas Shumate (Overland Park, Kan.) and Tommy Hill (Roxana) led the Cougars in victories this weekend. Shumate went 5-2 with one technical fall, while Hill went 4-2 with two falls.
         Team Scores were not kept at the open tournament. Individual weekend records are below.
         Next up for the Cougars is the Mizzou Open this Sunday in Columbia, Mo.
