Stephens Ranked Third Nationally
(EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) Zach Stephens, a senior from St. Charles, Mo., is moving up in the national wrestling rankings as the season is heading toward the postseason. Stephens is now ranked third in the nation at 174 pounds behind only Augustana's (S.D)Tom Meester and Nebraska-Kearney's Frank Kuchera. The rankings are done by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. The ultimate goal will be to finish as a winner at the 2003 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships on March 14-15 in Wheeling, W.V. SIUE's next action is Saturday at the Central Missouri State Jamboree in Warrensburg, Mo. The Cougars have dual meets against Barcome (Okla.) Junior College, Fort Hays State, and Southwest State. SIUE's home schedule concludes Sunday with a dual match against Northern Illinois. Match time is 2 p.m. -siue cougars- |
