Stephens finishes second at Denker Open
WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Zach Stephens placed second at the Roger Denker Open, losing a 10-4 decision to Missouri's Ben Askren in the 174-pound championship match. Stephens battled his way to the finals with three hard-founght victories. Stephens defeated Missouri Baptist's Quinton Hunter 11-4, Missouri's JC Russell 3-2 and Central Missouri State's Brett Barbarick 3-2. SIUE returns to the mat Wednesday for a road match at Missouri Valley. Match time is 7 p.m. -siue cougars- |
