April 26, 2008 Cline in Second After One MARION, ILL. - Senior Julie Cline (Decatur) is one stroke out of the lead at the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's golf championships at Kokopelli Golf Course. Cline shot an opening-round 79 and is tied with Missouri-St. Louis' Ashley Stout. Northern Kentucky's Sofie Rasmussen is the leader in the clubhouse after the first of two rounds with a 78. SIUE is in sixth place overall after day one with a team total of 348. The Cougars are one shot behind Drury and Southern Indiana for fourth place. Northern Kentucky holds a nine-stroke lead after day one with a team score of 332. Sheena Collins (Edwardsville) joined Cline in the top 10. Her first 18 holes was an 82, which tied her for eighth place overall. The championships conclude Sunday with 18 more holes. -siue cougars- |
