December 8, 2005 SIUE Women’s Golf Signs Collins EDWARDSVILLE, ILL.- Sheena Collins (Edwardsville) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women’s golf team starting in the Fall of 2006. “She has a really good resume,” said SIUE women’s golf coach Mark Marcuzzo. “Sheena has worked hard on her game in high school.” Collins is a three-time state qualifier finishing in 22nd place her junior year with score of 167 in class AA. Collins also finished in 52nd place her sophomore year and 79th her senior year with a total of 175. “It is nice to have players from the area,” said Marcuzzo. “I think our program is going to continue to get better because of talent we are getting. Hopefully, we can take them to next level.” Collins adds to a women’s golf team that finished sixth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference this past season. The Cougars will be back in action on Feb. 25-26, 2006, in Perry Park, Ky., for the Nothern Kentucky Invitational. -siue cougars- |
