May 1, 2007 SIUE Women's Golf Signs Megan Hood EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Megan Hood (Coulterville) will join the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's golf program next fall. Hood signed a national letter of intent to become a Cougar after spending two seasons at Rend Lake College. She finished as an honorable mention All-American among National Junior College Athletic Association players in 2006. "She has made her mark on the junior college level. I'm excited to have her join the team next season," said SIUE Coach Jennifer Jakel. Most recently, Hood placed second at the McKendree Invitational, helping Rend Lake to a team victory. Rend Lake looks to make a return visit to the NJCAA national championships in May. A prep standout at Coulterville High School, Hood was a Southern Illinois Player of the Year and well as a four-year letterwinner. Hood's cousin, Brittany, played women's golf for the Cougars from 2002 to 2006. -siue cougars- |
