SIUE Women's Golf Places Fifth at East Regional
FINDLAY, OHIO - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's golf team posted the best round of the day Tuesday and finished fifth at the NCAA East Regional.
The Cougars finished with a team total of 326 on Tuesday for a three-day total of 1,011. Grand Valley won the team title with a 964 followed by Ferris State at 973. Ferris State had the second best score Tuesday with a 330.
SIUE's Ashley Hemann (Highland) led the Cougars with a 54-hole score of 249. The junior carded a final round 82. Brittany Hood (Coulterville) matched Hemann with an 82 Tuesday and placed 19th at 251. Danielle Kaufmann (Nashville) and Julie Cline (Decatur) both finished with an 81 in the final round and placed 20th and 35th, respectively. Casey Biddinger finished 32nd with a score of 278.
