September 13, 2004 Harrison wins Cougar Classic by 16 Shots Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Kallie Harrison (Decatur) won the Cougar Classic by 16 shots with a two-day score of 154. Harrison shot a 74 on Sunday followed up by an 80 today at Fox Creek Golf Club. The Cougars finished second in the tournament with a score of 696 to Drury University, who won the tournament with a score of 691. SIUE won the Cougar Classic in 2003, while Drury finished 7th at last year's tournament. Freshman Rachel Roberg (Rice Lake, Wis.) finished sixth after a four hole play-off with a score of 174. Another freshman Natalie Connaway (Mcleansboro) placed 23rd after a two-day total of 183. Brittany Hood (Coulterville) rounded out the Cougar scoring just two shots behind Connaway in 25th place with a score of 185. The Cougars’ next competition will be the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational next Sunday and Monday. -siue cougars- |
