Farrell Shoots 87 at NCAA Tournament
PERRY PARK, Ky. - Katie Farrell (Princeton) shot a 15-over-par round of 87 at the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf East Regional.
Farrell was 14 strokes behind the first-round leader Diane Camacho, of Northern Kentucky, who shot a 1-over-par 73. The final round of the tournament is Saturday at Perry Park Country Club.
Northern Kentucky was the first-round leader in the team standings with a 307 followed by Ferris State (324), Grand Valley State (324), Quincy (325), Longwood (331) and Indianapolis (346). SIUE did not qualify for the tournament as a team.
The top two teams and the top two individuals not with a team from each regional advance to the 2002 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on May 15-18 at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Mich.
