Cougars Set Sights On Next Tournament
         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - After winning the Central Missouri Classic, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball team heads to Big Rapids, Mich., to participate in the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge.
         SIUE is coming off of a perfect 2-0 weekend trip that saw the Cougars pick up wins against Central Missouri and Harris-Stowe State. Up first for the Cougars in the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge is the host Ferris State Bulldogs. The Friday night game is scheduled to tip off at 5 CT. Ferris State leads the all-time series 5-2.
         On Saturday, the Cougars square off against the Lake Superior State. Start time for this game is scheduled for 3 pm CT. This will be the second meeting between these two teams. Lake Superior won the only other meeting between the two teams in 2005.
         SIUE led off the season with a pair of double-digit victories.
         In the Central Missouri game, Amber Shelton (Edwardsville) led all scorers with 19 points. Elyse Morris (Prophetstown) cleaned up on the boards with nine. Both players were later named to the All-Tournament team.
         For the Harris-Stowe game, Shelton and Whitney Sykes (Pontoon Beach) shared the scoring duties. Each player scored 19 points.
