Shelton Earns Academic Honor
           ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The leading scorer for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's basketball has earned an academic honor to go along with her athletic accolades.
           Amber Shelton (Edwardsville) was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District V second team. A kinesiology major at SIUE, Shelton is in her final season of eligibility for the Cougars and recently became a 1,000-point scorer.
           Shelton leads the GLVC with a 22.2 scoring average. Among GLVC players, she is sixth in rebounding with 7.2 caroms per game and 10th in field goal percentage at 50.6 percent.
           Overall, Shelton is ranked No. 7 nationally in scoring.
