Clements Named First Team Academic All-American
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Mallory Clements (Mt. Pulaski) has added another accolade to her list of volleyball accomplishments.
Clements was named a first team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America selection among college division players. The junior setter holds a 4.0 grade point average in business administration at SIUE.
"She balancing a lot," said SIUE coach Todd Gober. "She's a team captain and our most decorated player. She comes early to practice almost every day for extra reps and stays late whenever asked by her teammates."
Clements, a two-time All-American, has helped SIUE to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances while setting the school record for career service aces (161). In her first three seasons, Clements has totaled 638 kills, 182 blocks, 1,181 digs and 3,414 assists.
"Mallory shows up every day and competes at a high level," said Gober.
The Academic All-America team is selected by the nation's sports information directors.
