No. 17 Cougars Outclaw No. 6 Bulldogs
         Edwardsville, Ill. -- In a match that paired two top 20 teams, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball team was able to outclaw Truman State University.
         Needing the full five games, 16th-ranked SIUE was able to outdistance Truman in front of a energetic home crowd. The victory improved the Cougars' record to 21-5 overall. Truman, ranked No. 6 in the nation, is now 26-5.
         Leading the Cougars offensively was Kelsey Hubert (Freeburg) and Mallory Clements (Mt. Pulaski). Hubert finished the match with 14 kills. Clements served up 59 assists for the match. Samantha Schulte (Kenosha, Wis.), Emily Rahn (Waukesha, Wis.), and Sydney Winslow (Farmington, Mo.) all finished the match with 13 kills apiece.
         SIUE hit .167 for the match with 72 kills and 35 errors. The defense picked up 102 digs and 15 blocks.
         Truman State was led by Allie Cherven with 12 kills.
         Next up for the Cougars is GLVC opponent Southern Indiana. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Vadalabene Center.
