January 2, 2007 Mays Named Assistant Athletic Trainer at SIUE James Mays has been selected as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's new assistant athletic trainer. Mays previously worked as the student athletic trainer at Millikin University for three years with football, soccer, wrestling, baseball, softball, track, volleyball and men's basketball. "He has an enthusiastic personality and tremendous work ethic," said Director of Athletics Bradley Hewitt. Mays is NATA Board Certified, a Licensed Certified Athletic Trainer and a Professional Rescuer CPR/AED. He also worked as a fitness instructor for the Edwardsville YMCA and an athletic trainer for the Alton Memorial Hospital Human Motion Institute. Mays earned a bachelor of science in Athletic Training from Millikin University and holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology from SIUE. -siue cougars- |
