May 1, 2008 Colosimo Named GLVC Pitcher of the Year INDIANAPOLIS -- Kaitlin Colosimo (Orland Park) led a list of eight Southern Illinois University Edwardsville softball players who were named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference. Colosimo, who entered the GLVC Tournament with 24 victories, was named the league's Pitcher of the Year for a second straight season. She also was the lone player on the first team for the Cougars. The two-time defending league champions finished with five players on the All-GLVC second team and two more on the All-GLVC third team. Catcher Ashley Price (O'Fallon), first baseman Mallory Ruggles (Nashville), second baseman Lindsay Longfellow (Washington), shortstop Kaeleigh Rousey (Bloomington) and outfielder Nicole Beecher (Blue Springs, Mo.) were named to the second team. Chaleen Rumpf (New Lenox) and Erika Taylor (Boonville, Ind.) were tabbed third team. For the Cougars which entered the GLVC Tournament with a 14-game winning streak, it was the largest contingent of softball student-athletes to be named All-GLVC. SIUE first played in the GLVC in 1996 and is playing in its final GLVC Tournament in 2008. The Cougars are transitioning into NCAA Division I play next season. Missouri S&T's Kelsey Musselman was named the GLVC Player of the Year. Quincy's Torie Bunzell was named the GLVC Freshman of the Year. George DiMatteo, of Lewis, was named the GLVC's Coach of the Year. Below is a complete list of players named All-Conference.
