Martin Methodist Downs Cougars

         PENSACOLA, Fla. - Chris Rigdon (Glen Carbon/Edwardsville H.S.) was the lone singles winner as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville fell to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) 8-1.
         Rigdon, a freshman, won his No. 6 singles match against Jude Bhika 6-0, 6-2.
         SIUE was swept in doubles by Martin Methodist. Francisco Perez (Bogota, Columbia) and Doug Kummer (Fenton, Mo./Lindbergh) took their doubles match to an extra game, falling to Moez Ali and Jonathan Brown 9-7.
         The Cougars now return to Edwardsville to prepare for Great Lakes Valley Conference play. SIUE's first GLVC matchup is March 29th against St. Joseph's at the SIUE Tennis Courts.
