April 16, 2001 Men’s Tennis Heads To GLVC Tournament          This week, the SIUE men’s tennis team travels to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships.          The Cougars finished the regular season 4-12 overall and 4-5 in the conference, placing them in sixth place. SIUE plays No. 3 Missouri-St. Louis in the first round on Friday.          Chris Welkener (Belleville) finished with a 6-2 record in conference play as the No. 4 singles player. Overall, he was 8-7 on the season. David Mims (O’Fallon) also finished conference play with a winning record of 5-4. Mims, the No. 5 singles player, was 7-10 overall.
