February 19, 2008 Rose Shines at Iowa State Classic         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville All-American Kyle Rose (Kankakee) broke a school record this past weekend as the Cougar track team participated in the Iowa State Classic this past weekend.         With his performance, Rose now holds Division II's fastest time for the 400-meter dash. His time of 47.65 broke his 2007 school record of 47.88. Rose is now automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships.         "Just an unbelievable performance this weekend from Kyle. For the past couple of years, he has been one of the better Division II runners. He is now in an elite group. He now leads all of Division II by half a second in a sprint race, which is hard to do," said SIUE Coach David Astrauskas.         The Cougar 1,600 meter relay team recorded the second fastest time in Division II. Chris Littleton (Champaign), Alphonso Shepherd (Huber Heights, Ohio), Rose, and Chris Wright (Richton Park) automatically qualified with their 3:15.08 performance.         The Cougars will travel to Charleston Friday for the EIU Friday Night Special                 -siue cougars-
