Cougars Ready For Friday Night Special
        The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will be in Charleston this weekend for the Friday night special.
        The men’s team finished first and the women’s team placed second at last week’s DePauw Invitational.
        The men’s team scored 137 points in the meet just four points ahead of second place Missouri Baptist.
        Kyle Rose (Kankakee) notched a win at 200 meters with a time of 22.38. Freshman Chris Littleton (Champaign) won the 400-meter dash with a mark of 50.61.
        Cody Ellermeyer (DuQuoin) continued the Cougars’ hot streak with a win at 600 meters in a time of 1:23.29 to set a new personal best.
        The men’s 1,600 meter relay won its race in a time of 3:22.59.
        The women’s team scored 139 points in the meet 16 behind winner Missouri Baptist.
        Tairisha Sawyer (Chicago) won the 200-meter dash for the Cougars with a time of 25.59.
        Deserea Brown (Flossmoor) came in first at 400 meters with a mark of 58.25.
        Kelly Flounders (Homer Glen) came second place at 5,000 meters with a time of 19:25.78.
        Valerie Simmons (St. Louis) placed second at 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.12, setting a new season-high in that event.
