January 27, 2003 Milleville Provisionally Qualifies for NCAA Indoor Nationals Mark Milleville (Altamont) has provisionally qualified for the 2003 NCAA Division II Indoor Track Championships in the weight throw. His throw of 17.12 meters at the Stan Lyons Open Saturday surpassed the provisional qualifying standard of 16.20 meters. “Mark had great training in the fall,” said SIUE Coach Darryl Frerker. “He is definitely throwing within his means and capabilities.” Although Milleville is not guaranteed an invitation to the indoor nationals, Frerker indicated his chances are good since he currently ranks fifth in the nation in the event. Twelve athletes will be invited to participate in the indoor nationals in that event. Steve Landers (Auburn) set a new school record in the indoor shot put. His throw of 15.27 meters (50-1) passed Milleville’s record of 49 feet, 7.25 inches.
