SIUE To Host NCAA-II Outdoor Track and Field Championships
(EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.) Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
once again will host the NCAA Division II's best.
NCAA officials announced that SIUE will play host to the 2001 NCAA
Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 24-26 at Ralph
Korte Stadium. This will be the third time SIUE has hosted this national
championship, having previously been the host in 1997 and 1998.
The 2001 championships will feature 310 male student-athletes and
310 female student-athletes competing in an array of events. The event
schedule includes 22 events for women and 21 events. This will be the
first championships in which females will compete in the steeplechase
event.
