November 6, 2007 Three Named Daktronics All-Region EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Three Southern Illinois University Edwardsville players were named to the 2007 Daktronics Men's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region first team. Goalkeeper Greg Crook (St. Louis), back Zach Bauer (St. Charles, Mo.) and midfielder Randy Roy (St. Louis) will be placed on the national ballot for All-American consideration. The trio have led SIUE to a 10-3-3 record this season and a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the fifth consecutive year that the Cougars have gained a national berth. SIUE faces second-seeded Lewis in Wilder, Ky., in the opening round at 5 p.m. ET. The Daktronics All-Region team was voted on by the region's sports information directors. The region includes institutions from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Crook, a senior, has started all 16 games for the Cougars and has accumulated a 0.49 goals against average, which ranks him No. 2 in the nation. Crook has six shutouts this season and has recorded a .849 save percentage. Bauer, a junior, has been a key cog in SIUE's defense. He has taken six shots this season and has been the chief organizer of SIUE's defensive structure that has allowed just nine goals this season in 16 games. Roy, a sophomore, moved up to the midfield this season and has scored two goals. His tenacious play has helped SIUE outscore its opponents 32-9 in 2007.
