No. 22 SIUE Men's Soccer Gears Up For UMSL, Rolla
EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - After losing a game and picking up another over the weekend, the No. 22 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer team is now gearing up for their weekend against Missouri-St. Louis and Missouri-Rolla.
Kevin Bielicki (St. Louis, Mo.) Bob Ridder (Quincy) and Tim Weir (Florissant, Mo) led the Cougar scoring this past weekend. Bielicki and Ridder each scored one goal, while Weir had two. Ridder also recorded two assists.
At 6-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, SIUE looks to finish its season out strong.
First up this week for the Cougars is a UMSL team hungry for their first GLVC victory. Heading into the match, UMSL is 4-6-1 overall and 0-5-1 in GLVC play.
SIUE coach Ed Huneke feels this should be a good match to watch. "They have a lot of good players that are familiar with our team. If should be fun."
          Kick-off for Friday's match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Next up for the Cougars is UM-Rolla. With an overall record of 3-7-1 and 0-6 in GLVC, Rolla is also searching for their first GLVC win.
The fact that Rolla is still looking for their first win does not matter to Coach Huneke
"They are a good team that we cannot take lightly. We simply have to be ready to play."
The match against Rolla begins at 2:30 p.m.           -siue cougars-
