SIUE Advances to GLVC Title Game
         ST. LOUIS - Kevin Thibodeau scored twice Friday as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville powered past Lewis 2-1 and into the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship.
         Friday's semifinal game was moved to Saint Louis University High School's artificial turf field due to heavy rains over the past few days, eliminating Korte Stadium as a site for the game. SIUE will play the title game at Korte Stadium noon against UW-Parkside. The Rangers advanced to the title game with a 6-5 edge in penalty kicks after tying Northern Kentucky 0-0.
         Thibodeau tied Dustin Attarian for the team lead in scoring with 19 points. Attarian recorded assists on both of Thobodeau's goals. Randy Roy's 35-yard entry pass started the play which resulted in SIUE's first goal at 40:15 and was credited with an assist.
         Thibodeau provided the game winner at 47:33 with a kick that hit the bottom of his foot, pushing the ball past Lewis goalkeeper Brian Byrne.
         Lewis led the game early when Craig McIntosh headed the ball past SIUE goalie Nicholas Frasca at 27:33.
         SIUE dominated in shots with a 19-8 edge.
