SIUE Defeats Southern Indiana 2-1
         EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer opened its three-game road trip with a 2-1 victory at Southern Indiana Friday.
         No. 23-ranked SIUE improved to 5-3-3 overall and 5-2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Southern Indiana fell to 1-8-1 and 0-6-1 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars were up 2-0 on goals by Ross Beveridge and Kevin Thibodeau. SIUE was denied a shutout with just more than one minute remaining in the game when Brian Shepherd connected at 88:57.
         SIUE next faces Kentucky Wesleyan Sunday but will be without the aid of head coach Ed Huneke, who was red carded at 83:37 of the Southern Indiana game.
