February 16, 2006 SIUE Adds Seven To Men's Soccer Roster EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer team has inked seven players for the 2006 season. Coach Ed Huneke and his Cougars are coming off a 16-3-3 season that saw SIUE make its third trip to the NCAA Division II Final Four in the last five seasons. The Cougars add five freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior to a team that has a 34-game unbeaten streak in Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season contests. Freshmen Scott Bringuet (Springfield), Mychel Jones (St. Peters, Mo.), Randy Roy (St. Louis, Mo.), Timothy Lindsay (Florissant, Mo.), Kevin Bielicki (St. Louis, Mo.), and transfers Patrick Brazill (St. Charles, Mo.) and Dustin Attarian (St. Louis, Mo.) add to an SIUE team that has 18 players returning with eligibility. "The momentum of success on the field is influencing our recruiting success," said Huneke. "This is an outstanding class of newcomers, some of which were desired by big-time Division I programs. I'm very confident that these guys will keep us in the national spotlight." Bringuet is a midfielder/forward who played at Lutheran High School. Bringuet set school records with 48 goals and scoring a goal in 18 consecutive games in 2005. He finished his career at Lutheran High School with 103 goals and four assists being named 2005-06 Lutheran All-American. Jones played his high school soccer at Fort Zumwalt South. Jones, a forward/back, was named Player of the Year as a freshman and a senior. A four-time all-conference selection, Jones tied the school record with 31 goals while collecting second team All-State honors his senior season. Roy comes to the Cougars from Christian Brothers College High School where he won back-to-back Missouri State High School Championships. Roy was named team Most Valuable Player in 2005, scoring eight goals and adding four assists for the Cadets. Roy was also named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro First Team. Lindsay, a defender, also was a member of the CBC teams that won two Missouri state championships. Lindsay was second team All-State his sophomore year, following that up with All-Metro honorable mention his junior and senior seasons. Lindsay was a member of a defense that allowed just 16 goals all season for the Cadets. Bielicki joins fellow CBC teammates Roy and Lindsay at SIUE. Bielicki was also a member of two state championship teams at CBC. Bielicki netted 16 goals adding 11 assists in 2005, garnering St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro First Team and All-State honors as a senior. Bielicki, a forward, was a second team All-Metro pick his junior year. He finished his career at CBC with 40 goals and 39 assists. Huneke coached Bielicki's father, Tom, at Lewis and Clark Community College. Brazill comes to the Cougars after stints at East Carolina University and St. Louis Community College at Meramec. Brazill was All-Region and All-MCCAC Conference in 2005 with the Magic. Brazill, a midfielder, played high school soccer at Christian Brothers College High School. Attarian joins fellow St. Louis Community College at Meramec teammate Brazill on the Cougars for 2006. Attarian, a midfielder, played at St. Mary's High School where he was an All-Conference and All-Metro selection.
