October 21, 2005 Cougars Defeat UMSL 2-0          EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer team won its eighth consecutive game 2-0 over Missouri-St Louis on Friday afternoon.          The Cougars improved to 14-1-1 and 10-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. SIUE recorded a shutout for the 5th straight game and the 11th time this season.          Brian Higgins gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead with his second goal of the year on a pass from Victor Pacheco in the 18th minute. Ross Beveridge would add an insurance goal from Mike Banner at 70:33 to seal the win for the Cougars.          The Cougas continue their streak of 33 games with out a loss in GLVC regular season action.          Nicholas Frasca picked up the win in goal for SIUE, lowering his goals against average to 0.37.          The Cougars outshot the Rivermen 20-12 in the match.          SIUE will be back in action on Sunday as Missouri-Rolla will take on the Cougars at noon at the SIUE practice field behind Korte Stadium.                   -siue cougars-
