Cougars Fall in Season Opener
         MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- No. 1-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men's soccer managed just six shots in a 1-0 loss at Christian Brothers on Thursday.
         The defending national runner-up Cougars didn't have any answers in its first game of the season. Christian Brothers goalkeeper Chad Rounder picked up the shutout with four saves.
         Mike Banner and Brian Higgins each had two shots for the Cougars.
         Christian Brothers, 1-0, had just seven shots against the Cougar defense. A 2-on-1 breakaway at 73:10 by Kieran Wilson was the game's lone goal.
         The game featured a pair of red cards. SIUE's John Matthews was given a red card nearly 12 minutes into the game. Christian Brothers' Ryan Heine also was handed a red card by the head referee three minutes into the second half. After SIUE played one man down for much of the first half, both teams played 10 on 10 for much of the second half.
