Huneke Named Region Coach of the Year
          Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men’s soccer coach Ed Huneke has been named Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
          Huneke led a Cougars squad that finished as the national runner-up in NCAA Division II men’s soccer, and a 19-3-2 record this season.
          The Cougars were also Great Lakes Valley Conference Champions and Great Lakes Region Champions.
          Huneke picked up his 200th victory this season; and his record is 209-144-25 in 19 years at SIUE.
          This is the second time Huneke has won the honor since being named Regional Coach of the Year in 2001. Huneke has also been named GLVC Coach of the Year three times. (1997, 2001, 2003)
          He will enter next season needing eight wins to pass Bob Guelker as the all-time winningest coach in SIUE history.
