Cougars Tie Quincy 0-0
         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville tied Quincy 0-0 in men's college soccer on Sunday afternoon at Ralph Korte Stadium.
         The Cougars outshot the Hawks 27-12 in the contest. SIUE is now 12-1-2 overall and 7-0-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Quincy's record goes to 8-5-4 overall and 5-2-2 in conference action.
         The Cougars will need a win or a tie next Saturday when they face Bellaramine to clinch first place in the GLVC, affording SIUE the honor of playing host for the GLVC Tournament On Nov. 5-7.
         During halftime of Sunday's game, Cal Thomas was given the Jack Blake Award. The Blake Award is given to an SIUE men's soccer player who best displays outstanding soccer play, leadership, displays a positive spirit of university and community involvement, dedicated to high fitness and holds a grade point average of 2.5 or better. Thomas was one of SIUE's top scorers in last season's NCAA Tournament team.
         SIUE played in its third double-overtime game in a row, and the Cougars have played in five overtime games this season for a record of 3-0-2. SIUE goalkeeper Nicholas Frasca made a season-high six saves for his fifth shutout this season.
         The Cougars will visit Rockhurst on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before returning home for SIUE's last regular season home game against Bellarmine on Saturday at 5 p.m.
