Men’s Soccer Opens GLVC Play
The SIUE men’s soccer team will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule this weekend when it travels to Quincy on Friday and Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday.
SIUE, which now leads the GLVC in scoring at 2.60 goals per game, is coming off wins against Illinois-Springfield and Missouri Southern to improve its record to 3-2 on the season.
Quincy enters the week with a 1-3-1 record and Missouri-St. Louis is 1-3 on the season.
Newcomers Addae Rique (Trinidad & Tobago) and Victor Pacheco (San Luis, Brazil), along with Cal Thomas (Rochester) and Pete Cacciatore (St. Louis), lead the team in goals with three. Pacheco has a team-high three assists. SIUE boasts four of the top 10 scorers so far in the GLVC.
